Guessing you are not trying to get much deeper than 10-15ft otherwise I would think lead would be easier. Get line counter, start trolling at your desired speed, hold rod in hand, let out till you start ticking bottom at your desired depth. WebSep 14, 2011 · In order to use the chart you have to estimate the angle your line comes off the rod tip and meets the water. When I troll at my usual speed the angle is about 45 degrees. If I go into a "slow" troll it falls off to about 20 degrees, and at "let's boogie" speed it increases to about 60 degrees.

WebMay 22, 2024 · The closer to the lure the more immediate the lure is acted upon, the further way the sinker is the more gradual the action on the lure is. 90% of the time we run the wt only 6' ahead with a rubber band with water temps over 50 degrees.
